First, if you'd like to debug threaded programs, I recommend JProbe from KLGroup or DevPartner for Java from NuMega Soft. They are excellent tools for debugging and profiling Java programs.


Anyway, I can speculate that you might have thrashing thread program. That is, once a threaded is created, it just loops without killing itself (They are just there. Hanging around for nothing). Check for the CUP usage for your server to see if it the percentage increases overtime.
